Aspirantura and Doctorantura

General Information

Aspirantura of Zaporizhzhya National University was founded in 1962 in such specialties as Physics and Ukrainian Language. Nowadays there are 42 specialties are opened for pursuing in aspirantura and 12 specialties – in doctorantura, where more than 200 aspirants and 8 doctorants study.

Scientific counseling of aspirants is done by 60 doctors of Sci., Professors, and 75 candidates of Sci., assistant Profesors, who are actively working on their doctorate dissertations.

There are four Specialized Academic Councils for Defending the Candidate Dissertations function in Zaporizhzhya National University.

There are both self-paid and state budget-paid forms of studying in aspirantura and doctorantura.

One of the forms of preparing of the scientific and pedagogical personnel is the self-work on the dissertation (out of the aspirantura), which can last over to five years.

Scientific and Advising Center works at the ZNU’s aspirantura. It helps applicants to prepare to the passing of the candidate exams in philosophy and foreign language (English, Spanish, German, and French). You can also go to this Center to any other advice regarding preparing, writing a dissertation and its defence.
