The Division of Applied PhysicsThe Division of Applied Physics of Zaporizhzhya National University is pleasedto present a new interesting specialty – “Applied Physics”. It includes thefollowing courses:
Thus our future graduates will not only receivethequalification of physicist, but also will become a specialist in themostperspective and modern realm of the science and engineering – therealm ofnanotechnologies. Nano-technology is a new scientific branch ofphysics. Itresearches physical and chemical processes, which occur inthe spatial parts ofthe nano-metrical sizes, in order to be able tomanage separate atoms, molecules and molecular systems for creating ofnano-structures, nano-materialsand nano-devices with special physical, chemical and biological qualities. According to the competent experts in five yearsall theindustry will be developing based on nano-technologies -technologies ofmanipulation of separate atoms and molecules. Thisrevolutionary approach willlet to create new materials with anyqualities previously set by people. The fields that will use the nano-technologies in thenearest future: Energy and automobile industryThere is the possibility touse hydrogen as fuel. Nowadays in thedifficult situation of the deficit of theenergy resources the usage ofthis ecologically clean and cheap fuel is veryattractive. By this timeit has not been used since technically it wasimpossible to provide itsstorage and transportation. Construction industry, aviation and astronauticsCreating ofthe materials and products by using the method of assemblyof separate atomswill let to save the natural resources. It will alsolet to create thematerials ten times stronger and lighter (forinstance, materials based onnano-tubes) and more efficient in order touse them for building of all typesof the air- and spacecrafts, inconstruction industry and architecture. Medicine Nano-technologies willbe used for creation of therobots-doctors capable to "to live" insideof a human organism, treatall the damages and prevent their creation.Theoretically, nano-technologiescan provide human beings with theimmortality because the nano-medicine canregenerate dying cellsendlessly. Household Creation of the "clean"surfaces thatclean themselves, "smart" materials, clothes, which wouldnot need tobe washed, will put our lives on the new level of the being. There are also other interesting projects: thedeveloping ofthe new elevator that is planned to be built by 2018(cable of this elevatorwill be made from nano-tubes); robots of the newgeneration capable toreplicate themselves; clothes that make a personinvisible; transparentarchitectural constructions; lasers based on thequantum spots; and otherfantastic, but already real projects, which youwill get to know if choose thespecialty "Applied Physics".
The new study courses in nano-technologies forstudents, whowould choose the specialty "Applied Physics", are beingdeveloped atthe division. The division is equipped with moderncomputers for processing theresults of the researches and controllingthe nano-technological processes. Dear university entrants! Think about the fact that nowadays choosing yourfutureoccupation you are unsure it will be in demand in the world ofthe constantdevelopment of the modern high-end technologies. Scientistsare even wonderingif the progress of nano-technologies would lead tothe undermining of thetraditional bases of the production and thebusiness. Researchers make theconclusion that at the modern level ofhuman development any field f study willlack of high qualityspecialists. That is why the specialists with fundamentaleducation inphysics will be in higher demand and have more considerableposition inthe human resources market. If you pursue a specialty “Applied Physics” youbecome aspecialist not only in physics, but also in chemistry, biology, informationscience, mathematical modeling, computer graphics, etc.Fundamental knowledgein these fields of study will let you to beself-confident at the jobs market. The best graduates will have anopportunity to continue their post-graduateeducation at aspirantura. Toimprove their qualification the perspective youngscientists can studyat the leading scientific centers in Ukraine and abroad. Make your choice! The Division of Applied Physics is waiting for the talentedyoung scholars! 69063 66, Zukovskyy Street ph.
