International activity

One of the most important activities of Zaporizhzhya National University (ZNU) is the intensification of international collaboration in different directions. One of them is participation in international projects. Since 1994 our university has taken part in 18 large-scale projects, 7 of which are going on.
They are:

  • 1.Project "Social Education in Ukraine" (1999-2001). Creation of Information - Consulting Resource Centre of Social Programs at ZNU.
  • 2. Esprit Network Project "Agent Link Network of Excellence for Agent Based Computing". ZNU is the Associate member of the network SIG "Intelligent Information Agents" (from 1999).
  • 3. JST Network Project "Onto Web: Ontology - based information exchange for knowledge management and electronic commerce". ZNU is the Consortium Member.
  • 4. German-Ukrainian Project „Study and work together“ in the field of Social pedagogics.
  • 5. NATO Project „ Mullet parasites as pollution indicators in the Mediterranean waterts“.
  • 6. Tempus Project „Master of Business Administration and Information Technology“.
  • 7. Tempus Project „Unit-nat-IT at University Management NETWORK“.

Zaporizhzhya National University also collaborates with the following foreign educational institutions and organizations:

  • Leading companies "FER", "Symacon", "OHMI" (Germany);
  • Magdeburg and Stendal University of Applied Sciences, University of Hannover, University of Hildesheim, University of Halle-Vittenberg (Germany);
  • St. Stephan University, Regina University (Canada);
  • University of Roune (France);
  • Moskow State University (Russia);
  • St.-Petersburg, State Academy of Physical Culture (Russia);
  • Export –Academie Baden-Würrtemberg, Reutlingen (Germany)
  • Unversity of Applied Science Magdeburg-Stendal (Germany);
  • French centre of culture and language interaction at the Embassy of France in Ukraine;

With the assistance of international donor organizations and foundations, the following structural units were set up at Zaporizhzhya National University:

  • English Language Learning Centre;
  • Renaissance Studies Laboratory;
  • Information Consulting Resource Centre of Social Aid;
  • Affiliation of Roune University of distant education;
  • French Linguistic Centre;
  • Laboratory on Social Pedagogics;
  • Center of Ukrainian-Chinese friendship.

During 2003 100 members of university teaching staff were trained abroad. 65 students went through advanced studies abroad and participated in international sport events. 101 specialists from Canada, France, Germany, China, USA, Poland and other countries taught and consulted at Zaporizhzhya National University.
