From June 28 to July 7, the “Summer School of Young Journalists” was held on the basis of Zaporizhzhia National University, organized jointly by ZNU, German NGO Interlink Academy and Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and within the framework of the Eastern Partnership program with the support of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
Traditionally, during the introductory campaign, special attention is paid to information on the choice of a particular educational program. One of them is “editorial and publishing activities and media modeling” (bachelor, full-time, part-time education). The list of subjects of EIT for admission: Ukrainian language and literature, history of Ukraine, a foreign language or mathematics. The branch of knowledge for this specialization is 06 Journalism, and specialty 061 Journalism. Qualification: Bachelor of Journalism, 3439 Publishing and Editing Specialist.
From 13 to 17 May, representatives of the Faculty of Journalism of ZNU took part in a large-scale conference of the DESTIN project of the European Union Erasmus + program. For five days at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, participants in a consortium of 20 partner universities in Ukraine and Europe (Great Britain, Austria, Ireland, Poland and Sweden) discussed the key points of the project. The dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Viktor Kostiuk, the head of the Journalism Department, Yuliia Liubchenko, and Kateryna Sirinok-Dolharova, Deputy Dean for International Affairs joined the discussion.
On May 10-11, the National Debate Tournament took place in Kyiv. The first day began with a welcoming part, which was continued by the lectures for a detailed introduction to the tournament topics. The second day was dedicated to the competition itself, in which 35 teams from different cities of Ukraine took part. The game was conducted in three stages: 2 rounds and final.
On April 26, an American journalist, scholar of Fulbright Graduate Student Program from the University of Missouri (USA), Renee Hickman, met with students of the Faculty of Journalism during a round table meeting. She told about her research project, which she is implementing at the Faculty of Journalism of ZNU. Kateryna Sirinok-Dolharova, PhD Associate Professor, Vice Dean in International Affairs moderated and translated the speech during the meeting.
Recently, the number of new specialties, approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, has increased in ZNU. Among them is the specialty "Information, Library and Archival Affairs". Specialists in the program "Information affairs in business, politics and public administration" will be trained at the Faculty of Journalism.
The founding forum of the newly established Alumni Association was held on the Faculty of Journalism of Zaporizhzhia National University. During the event, graduates of different years gathered together, among them were well-known journalists, professors, students, as well as mass media specialists, who fruitfully cooperate with ZNU.
