At the beginning of October the all-Ukrainian daily newspaper Day celebrates its birthday by organizing the traditional photos contest, which is being held already for 12 years. Since 2005 Zaporizhhzya National University has become one of five universities, which give the contest winners the special prizes. This year the ZNU Journalism Department Associate Dean Victor Kostyuk handed the special prize to photographer Oleg Nych for the work "Apple of Reconciliation". On October 1st the contest selection for 2010-2011 academic year has started. It is the third tear the ZNU students participate in the Program. The application deadline is October 25th. 
The holiday celebrations devoted to the end of the Week of the Department of the Foreign Philology were organized on October 8th in ZNU. The holiday was held in the unusual format combining the concert program and the presentations of the department's achievements given by the Dean Galina Moroshkina and other teachers and students.
