The famous Ukrainian poet's 140th birthday anniversary was celebrated in ZNU on February 25th. The student of the Department of Philology prepared the concert, where sang songs and danced and also performed the abstracts from Lesya Ukrainka’s plays.

The faculty, staff and students of Zaporizhzhya National University express the condolences and grief about the passing away of the Associate Professor of Chair of German Philology and Translating Irina Grigorivna Koleskyk.

The national ancient Cossack game was organized as a student men sport event for this year National Defender Day in ZNU. It was supported by the NGO "Ukrainian Federation Spas" and the university administration.

On February 22nd the second class of the students of specialty "Guides-Translators" graduated at ZNU Center of Business Education. Seven graduates received the positive evaluation grade from the Accreditation Commission for giving the permission for the tourist support of the excursions.

On February 24th the Associate Professor of the Chair of Finance and Credit Anatoliy Kuschik celebrated his 60th anniversary birthday. His colleagues and friends congratulated him.

On February 22nd the first meeting of the ZNU Young Scientists Council took place in the university.

Cybermetrics Lab of the Center of Information and Documentation (Centro de Informacіyn y Documentaciуn, CINDOC) of National Research Council of Spain, CSIC has been organizing the Webometrics Rating the seventh year in a row. This rating is the attempt to evaluate the global educational space. Having begun from 6,000 universities on 2004 the analytic group has got the information already from 20,000 universities of all the world continents. Twice a year - in June and January - they give the information about the level of the university domains circulation in the world informational space.

This statement was said by Dr. of Sci. in Economy, Professor of the Chair of Finance and Credit Anatoliy Kuschik at the round table discussion "Necessity of the Budget Creating for the Enterprises' Activities in the Market Conditions". At the modern situation of instability of the market the students and teachers of the Department of Economy presented very actual papers and researches. The guests Candidate of Sci. in Economy, Associate Professor of Zaporizhzhya National Technical University Tetiana Pulina and the entrepreneur, the director of the Soya Innovation Center Olexandr Gnedkov visited the event too.

The regular conference of the ZNU Student Council took place on February 17th. The students approved the Student Self-Governance Policy, selected the representatives to the All-University Employees' Conference, and elected the new head of the Student Council. Andriy Bondarenko, the Journalism Department junior became the new leader.
