On February 24 Zaporizhzhya National University hosted the regional stage of All-Ukrainian competition for young researchers – members of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The participants presented and defended their scientific research papers. High school students arrived from every part of Zaporizhzhya region to present their works at the second round of the competition. ZNU lecturers, who acted as judges at the competition, stressed that the amount of accomplished participants grew as well as the quality of their research papers.

A beauty and talent show ‘Miss ZNU’ has become an event of a city-wide scale. Nowadays it is looked forward not only by the University students and staff but by everyone with an eye for beauty. This year the beauty contest was held on the eve of Native Land Defender's Day. So on February, 22 the Drobyazko Hall had full house. People came to support the contestants as well as to enjoy a wonderful show.

The International day of mother tongue was celebrated on the Philological Faculty with the mind game “I love Ukraine”. The event was held within a framework of the patriotic initiative “Support your mother tongue” and was organized by the volunteers of Zaporizhzhya regional office of All-Ukrainian organization “European youth of Ukraine”.

On February 22 in the Museum, campus building 1 (ZNU) a local Round table debates were held, dedicated to the issue on ‘Student scientific societies under modern conditions’. The event was organized by the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Student Scientific Society (UPSSS).

On February 23 the final competition of KVK (Club of Cheerful and Sharp-witted) of the third Academic League took place in Orbita Palace of Culture. There were 7 teams: “3, 4, 2” (the Law Faculty of ZNU), “A bald-head got angry” (ZNTU), “A centimeter of happiness” (ZNTU), “For you” (Zaporizhzhya), “For God’s sake” (Melitopol), “Half-meter shared by three” (ZAK) and “Gagarin” (ZNTU).

On February 22 the Law Faculty, ZNU gave ‘Brain Ring’ quiz. The questions of the intellectual competition concerned the sphere of Constitutional Law. The event was organized by the Dean of the Law Faculty Tetyana Kolomoets and the lecturers Nataliya Brovchenko and Mykola Martynov.

On Friday, February 22, the Faculty of Law of ZNU hosted a public meeting. The discussion was about the guarantees of use and application of rights and freedoms in Ukraine. The students of the second year took part in the event that was organized by the lecturer of the faculty Mykola Martynov.
