Last week at the Faculty of Social Science and Administration of Zaporizhzhya National University held a media day during which presented the results of a study on local community development on the example of Zaporizhzhya region. Research carried out by the Scientific Resource Centre of ZNU Sustainable Development and the Independent Sociological Research Centre of ZNU under the joint EU / UNDP project "Local Development CBA". Participants also learned about establishing effective cooperation with the media area. They also participated in media training.
Recently, the Oriental Institute of the Adam Mickiewicz University, International Initiatives Support Centre (Poznan, Poland) completed competition for the best analytical text about social transformation, culture, politics, economics, international relations and modern history of Ukraine. The organizers said that the first place took the analytical work of Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Social Science and Administration of ZNU Maksym Lepskyi.
Zaporizhzhya National University scientists are taking active part in the process of reforming the legislation and government of our country. They often act as experts and conducting broad powers educational activities, helping to improve the general state of political and legal literacy. That is when in Ukraine going on an important for the further development reform of decentralization of the government, representatives of the teaching staff of ZNU organized a series of special events, meetings round tables, discussions, debates, etc., which incorporate not only the teachers and students of our university, but and the general public. 
26 June on the basis of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Administration of Zaporizhzhya National University held presentation of sociological research of the social thought on the current state and future prospects of the National Reserve "Khortytsia". Research conducted masters under the guidance of the Faculty associate professor of political scienceї Nataliia Lepska. At the event visited staff of the reserve chaired by the Director General Maksym Ostapenko. Guests of the University sincerely interested in conclusions that have made young scientists of ZNU, so that at the end of the presentation heard suggestions on further cooperation between the Faculty and reserve "Khortytsia".
In the last week at Berdiansk Youth Club "Fraternity" with the support of the Aid Democracy Fund Embassy of the United States of America in Ukraine within the framework of the project "Know Your Rights" held All-Ukrainian training seminar "Rights of the child through the eyes of teachers". The aim of the seminar-training – exchange of experiences between teachers, coaches, community activists from different regions of Ukraine and provide appropriate information and metodchnoyi support for those who wish to deepen their knowledge in the field of children's rights, tolerance and counteraction violence in the youth environment. Among the participants of the tournament was the representative of Zaporizhzhya National University – Deputy Head of the Department of Sociology, Doctor of Philosophy, Associate professor, Coach of the students philosophical club "Debates" Faculty of Social Sciences and Administration Volodymyr Skvorets.
Zaporizhzhya National University is actively involved in various international projects relating not only to the development of science and education area, but also important social and political processes. Last year ZNU joined to the international network "Universities for peace", whose aim is the active participation of the university communities in the settlement of conflicts and implementing peacemaking initiatives. Yesterday, May 25, at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Administration of Zaporizhzhya National University held the first general secrecy elections of the head of the Student Council. Take part in the elections expressed the wish 139 people (46% potential voters).
