The 2nd year student of the Faculty of Law of ZNU Taras Malchenko (coach - Andrii Yakovliev) became the bronze medalists of the European Championship among youth (under 21) in taekwondo. This championship, which took place in Warsaw (Poland) from November 6 to 11, gathered more than 700 strongest young athletes, champions of their countries.
Graduate student of 2 years of study on the Faculty of Economics in ZNU Yevhen Oleksenko took part in the Invictus Games-2018 in Sydney, where he worthly represented our country. In the powerlifting category, Yevhen won a silver medal.
All-Ukrainian Taekwondo competitions, held under the motto “Taekwondo for everyone!” has been held recently in Vinnytsia. The organizers timed this event to the twentieth anniversary of the founding of the Vinnytsia Regional WTF Taekwondo Federation. During the event, the College of Economics and Law of ZNU was worthily presented by the student Anton Lipovyi.
The German city of Brandenburg hosted the European Boat Racing Championship "Dragon" among young men, juniors, youth and adults. Almost one and a half thousand athletes from 18 countries took part in the competitions, 81 of them were representing Ukraine.
Famous athlete, Paralympic champion from Zaporizhzhia, graduator from Zaporizhzhia national university Mariia Pomazan got big win during World Para Athletics European Championships which took place in Berlin from 20 till 26 August. The athlete from Zaporizhzhia, Mariia Pomazan (coach- Tamara Levoshko) won “gold” for Ukrainian team in Women’s Shot Put and at the same time replenished her enormous collection of prestigious awards.
Olexandr Nadtoka, the master of sport of international class of rowing, champion and current record holder of the world, studies in the graduate school of Zaporizhzhia national university, successfully presented Ukraine in Men’s Quadruple Sculls in European Rowing Championship (Glasgow, Great Britain).
According to the words of Yurii Kahanov, the vice-rector for science and pedagogical work, the university gave a proposition to realize the project “Familiar strangers” (No. 117 in the list of competitive works-social initiatives “We are a city”), which includes establishment of panels with QR-codes next to the trees which are growing on the territory of Zaporizhzhia national university as many of them are quite rare and brought from others continents.
