On May 22 it was the 150th anniversary of the reburying the famous poet Taras Shevchenko in Kaniv. He died in Saint Petersburg, but was buried at the banks of Dnipro River. The famous Ukrainian writer, the nominee and laureate of the different literary premiums Petro Rebro presented his new boor within this event. On May 21 the students of the Philological Department has unusual class. They met the famous poet, the member of the National Writers Society, the ZNU alumna Lyubov Gen'ba.
On May 17 the ZNU organized the first trial training Developing of Communicative Literacy. The sophomores of the Department of Sociology and Administrating majoring in Sociology participated in it.
The Europe Day has become a traditional holiday in Zaporizhzhya National University. This year ZNU located its tents at the Festivalna Square of Zaporizhzhya.
On May 20 there was the grand opening of the memorial board to the famous Zaporizhzhya historian Professor Anatoliy Boyko in ZNU. He was the Head of the Chair of Sources Studies, Historiography and special Historical Disciplines, a founder of the Zaporizhzhya research school of Ukrainian Step of ХVIII – beginning of XX centuries. He passed away on December 27, 2010. This event occurred within the All-Ukrainian conference.
On May 19 the free training for ZNU students and staff ended. They were organized by the Business Education Center along with City Fund of Entrepreneurship Support and were in such directions as "Techniques of Business Strategic Negotiating" and "Managing of Difficult Negotiating".
On May 19 the students of the ZNU Journalism Department had a meeting with Andriy Kulykov, the anchorman of the "Freedom of Speech" TV-program. Mr. Kulykov and Zaporizhzhya journalist Olga Vakalo gave lecture for the students.
