According to the order of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine № 1281 from 09.09.2013 "On the All-Ukrainian competition of student scientific works on natural, technical and humanitarian sciences in 2013/2014 academic year", State Higher Educational Institution "Zaporizhzhya National University" for the sixth time (2005-2008, 2011-2013) appointed as a base for the second round of competition by the branch of "Biological Science".

21-23 October at the exhibition center "KievExpoPlaza" (Kyiv) held the IVth All-Ukrainian biological Forum of pupils and students "Touch of Nature". The event was organized by the National ecological center for students and Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University, attended by over 200 young researchers from all regions of Ukraine. Among them - the students of biological faculty of Zaporizhzhya National University Yuliya Zhelyabina (Section "Medicine") and Mariya Topchiy (section "Ecology and environmental problems"). The results of the forum, both representatives of our university received certificates for 3rd place and Diplomas of participants.

October 16 at the Faculty of Biology of Zaporizhzhya National University held a seminar for teachers from across the Zaporizhzhya region, during which representatives of our university took several lectures on biology and chemistry. Organized by the Faculty of Biology of Zaporizhzhya National University and Zaporizhzhya Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education of Zaporizhzhya Regional Council (ZOIPPO ZRC).

October 3 students of biological faculty of Zaporizhzhya National University held a celebration for the World Day of smile.

October 2 on Biological Faculty of Zaporizhzhya National University held a roundtable discussion on the topic "Creating an environmentally healthy model of life of 3rd millennium, the man and his environment".
The purpose of the meeting was an attempt to consider the interaction between man and nature, direction and production of scientific thought to create an environmentally healthy future for our planet, an analysis of the historical forms of human life. In the future, these issues will allow to formulate principles and find systemic solutions of harmonious society development, taking into account environmental, social and economic aspects of human civilization.

At the Faculty of Biology of Zaporizhzhya National University held a solemn initiation of freshmen. Event was organized by activists of Student Council of the Faculty.

September 28th students of 1st-3rd years of biological faculty of Zaporizhzhya National University within the celebration of the Day of Health visited the biostation-sanatorium of ZNU on Khortytsya island.

September 27 at the Faculty of Biology of ZNU held a mini-training on "Creating Presentations: basic steps." It was organized by Deputy Dean for International Activities, chairman of volunteer service career development of students of biological faculty, Ph.D. in Biology, associate professor Nataliya Rubtsova.

September 26 in the walls of Zaporizhzhya National University held a retreat meeting of the Scientific and Methodological Council for Civil Protection and safety of the population of Zaporizhzhya region on "Methodological framework of security of life, which is based on experience, achievements of the human sciences, systematic and structured approach to analysis of emergency".
The purpose of the event - search for perspective directions of improvement of higher education in civil security and learning experience of training on labor protection, life safety and protection in higher educational institutions of the region.

September 26 for 1st and 2nd years students of biological faculty held presentation of scientific and research groups which acting at the faculty. It conducted and presented the activities of the representatives of the Scientific Community of Students and Postgraduates of the Faculty of Biology.
