The graduate students of ZNU Yulia Volkova and Olga Chirkun received the titles of the Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine. 
On May 12 at the Journalism department there was the Regional Scientific and Practical Conference State and Perspectives of Development of the Regional Press. The students and teachers prepared papers for five conference sessions. 
Nowadays creating the florariums is the fashionable tendency. They brighten up the design of offices, apartments and schools. The first florarim in our university was created by the students of Biological Department to the Biological Department's Day.
The Vice Head of Scientific Society of Students and Graduates of ZNU Ganna Tkach and Head the Department's of Psychology and Social Pedagogy SSSG Olexandra Chirka participated in the 17th International Festival of Practical Psychology TAVALE-2011 «Feeling of Life». It’s the second time girls participate in this annual festival.
The 2nd All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference Russian Verbal Cultute: Tendencies of Development and Teaching in Modern Conditions took place in Zaporizhzhya National University. The teachers of the Philological Department, the representatives of Ukrainian Association of Russian Language and Literature Teachers, Institute of Philology of Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, All-Ukrainan NGO "Russian Scohool" organized the event. The conference was supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Youth and Sport of Ukrauine.

The basketball team of ZNU won the Basketball Championship devoted to the 66th anniversary of the Great Victory.
On May 9 in Zaporizhzhya National University there was the meeting devoted to the 66th anniversary of the Great Victory and the 183rd anniversary of withdrawal of the troops of the Zaporizhzhya Cossacks from Turkey into Ukraine. The representatives of ZNU, religious groups and local NGOs gathered near the monument to the last ataman Yosyp Gladkyi.
