This year our city celebrates its 238-th birthday, although some investigations prove, that first references about it can be found in old manuscripts. The Day of City is celebrated on party of Pokrov of Saint Virgin. That is why conduction of Pokrovsky fair has already become traditional.

On the Day of Teacher in ZNU the traditional holiday “Colors of the autumn” was conducted. Students of all faculties prepared their gift to lecturers - compositions of flowers and also musical performances. Besides, the exhibition of embroided towels and blouses, represented by the studio “Beaury of kalina” worked. On September, 30 the official opening of the First regional social-cultural photo project “Zaporozhians” was held in hte gallery of Zaporizhzhya center of Ukrainian alliance of photoartists. The project was organized by Zaporizhzhya regional rada, the faculty of journalism of Zaporizhzhya national university and the magazine «QP!».

In Zaporizhzhya national university an international seminar of “Interaction of atomic particles and clusters with surface of hard bodies”. The opportunity to discuss actual problems and to adjust new scientific relations attracted not only lecturers from different cities of Ukraine, but also guests from Russia and Byelorussia. Conduction of the conference was also motivated by celebration of the 20-th anniversary of the the chair of hard and micro-electronics of the physical faculty.
