The Law Department's students came up with the initiative organizing of the charity action "The Environment Day". The students cleaned the territory around the 5th building of ZNU and near the monument of the tank equipage of the USSR Hero M. Yatsenko.
The festival of the amateur art of the ZNU freshmen «Let Introduce Ourselves-Silver Star» started yesterday. The students of Biological, Physical, Economic Departments and the Department of Foreign Languages showed their talents on the first day of the contest.
From October 1st till October 7th there was the Week of Informatics and Programming devoted to the Programmer Day in the Collage of Economics and Law of ZNU. It was the first time the university organized the event. 
At the beginning of October the all-Ukrainian daily newspaper Day celebrates its birthday by organizing the traditional photos contest, which is being held already for 12 years. Since 2005 Zaporizhhzya National University has become one of five universities, which give the contest winners the special prizes. This year the ZNU Journalism Department Associate Dean Victor Kostyuk handed the special prize to photographer Oleg Nych for the work "Apple of Reconciliation". 
On October 1st the contest selection for 2010-2011 academic year has started. It is the third tear the ZNU students participate in the Program. The application deadline is October 25th. 
The holiday celebrations devoted to the end of the Week of the Department of the Foreign Philology were organized on October 8th in ZNU. The holiday was held in the unusual format combining the concert program and the presentations of the department's achievements given by the Dean Galina Moroshkina and other teachers and students. 
The festive concert was organized at the Law Department of ZNU the day before the Jurist Day, which is on October 8th. The best teachers and students leaded by the Dean Tetiana Kolomoets were honored at the concert by the University's Administration - Rector Sergiy Tymchenko and First Vice-Rector Olexander Bondar.
