On March 28, at the Faculty of Foreign Philology the 3rd year students of almost all specialties of the faculty under the leadership of the Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of German Philology and Translation Valentyna Botner and the Deputy Dean for Educational Work Nina Zakharova prepared the theatrical performances of the best playwrights’ famous plays of the late 19th and early 20th century in the original language.
On March 27, at the Faculty of Foreign Philology was held the 24th Methodological workshop for teachers of foreign languages "Modern technologies of foreign language teaching at the crossroads of cultures and civilizations". The event was attended by about 120 teachers of the city of Zaporizhzhya and region, lecturers of Zaporizhzhya National University and students interested in modern trends of teaching foreign languages.
Yesterday in ZNU was held an all-Ukrainian Marathon of Francophonie, in which took part nine Ukrainian universities and French-speaking representatives of the cities of Zaporizhzhya, Kyiv, Chernivtsi, Bakhmut, Dnipro, Lviv, Odessa, Rivne, Kharkiv. Among the participants there were students, high school students and all people who study the French language and speak it. The event was initiated by the Embassy of France in Ukraine and timed to the International Week of Francophonie.
It is necessary to raise your level for the successful realization in any professional sphere. For this purpose, the teachers of ZNU took part in different internships, forums, seminars, conferences, etc.
At the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Zaporizhzhya National University teachers don’t limit the educational process. They seek to encourage students to learn foreign languages outside the classroom. So, today there is a drama group at the faculty under the guidance of a lecturer of the Department of Second Language Studies Maryna Trofymenko.
The representatives of the Scientific Society of Students, Postgraduates, Doctoral Candidates and Young Scientists of ZNU have recently held a workshop at the Faculty of Foreign Languages for students of the 2nd and 3rd courses. The purpose of the event consisted in inviting students to participate in the X University Conference "Young Science 2017". Also, there was conducted a master class for students on writing scientific papers. The organizers of the event were the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages for Scientific Affairs Maryna Vorobyova and the Head of the Scientific Society of Students, Postgraduates, Doctoral Candidates and Young Scientists of the Faculty Hanna Semenyuta.
During the session of the Scientific-Technical Council of Zaporizhzhya National University the lecturer of the Department of Second Language Studies Maryna Trofymenko presented the results of her internship and advanced training at the University for Foreigners of Perugia (Italian Republic). She was in that higher educational institution from October 1 to December 31, 2016. Before then, the teacher graduated from the professional master's degree at the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University.
The Faculty of Foreign Languages of Zaporizhzhya National University was visited by Professor of the Faculty of Education, Philosophy and Anthropology at the University of the Basque Country (Bilbao, Spain), Koldo Garai.
At the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Zaporizhzhya National University was held IX Scientific-practical student conference "Christmas Readings". Year by year it is becoming increasingly popular among students who are interested in science. So, this time the organizing committee received 196 abstracts from the representatives of our University, as well as young researchers from Zaporizhzhya National Technical University and Classic Private University, and even from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
In the framework of the events dedicated to the St. Nicholas Day and Christmas, a magical game "Christmas Britain Battle" took place at the Faculty of Foreign Languages. In such a way students presented their creative individual task for the second foreign language (English) under the guidance of Associate Professor of the Department of Second Language Studies Larysa Pinchuk. The second year students of the same Department were also invited, and they did a good job.
