Zaporizhia National University celebrate its 90th anniversary in 2020. At the University, several projects are being successfully realized, which are related to highlighting the key stages in formation and development of a leading institution of higher education in the south of Ukraine.
On the base of Zaporizhia National University the Confucius School has been successfully operating for the third year. In which the native interlocutors teach – the professors of Anhui Pedagogical University (China). Today, during the quarantine, there are not only classes online, but also the School’s material and technical resources are updating.
On March 10, within the framework of implementing the international project DESTIN of the European Union Erasmus + program, its experts held a two-day working visit to ZNU (ZNU, Zaporizhzhia National University). The President of European Journalism Training Association, Professor of Windesheim University (Netherlands) Nico Drok, a journalist, media expert, lecturer at the Fojo Media Institute of Linnaeus University (Sweden) Veronika Menjoun, expert on quality of education (World University Service, Austria) Marc Schwärzli, Iryna Kondratenko (Hromadske Radio, Kyiv) and Konstantin Kovalyshin (Ukrainian Students' Association, Kyiv) met with representatives of the university administration. They also met the curriculum development team at the Faculty of Journalism, its alumni, undergraduate and graduate students, got acquainted with the material and technical resources of the faculty and the university as a whole.
On February 12, the opening of the kick-off meeting of MultiED project “Foreign Language Teacher Training Capacity Development as a Way to Ukraine’s Multilingual Education and European Integration” took place at Zaporizhzhia National University (ZNU, Zaporizhzhia National University) in the framework of the Erasmus + KA2 programme “Development of Higher Education Potential”. Christian Klauks and Alexandra Golovko, project managers of the University of Tartu; Susan Garton and Elisabeth Wilander, professors of Aston University (Birmingham, Great Britain); Stefani Witzig and Leone Ekzarkos, professors of Heidelberg University; Hans-Werner Huneke, rector of Heidelberg University, participated in the kick-off project meeting.

On this day, Christian Klauks, project manager of the University of Tartu; Susan Garton and Elisabeth Wilander, professors of Aston University; Stefani Witzig and Leone Ekzarkos, professors of Heidelberg University; Hans-Werner Huneke, rector of Heidelberg University, Alexandra Golovko, project coordinator of “Foreign Language Teacher Training Capacity Development as a Way to Ukraine’s Multilingual Education and European Integration” from the Estonian side, who also provided interpretation, met the representatives of Zaporizhzhia National University administration.
On December 2-4, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv again hosted the training for participants of the Erasmus + KA2 DESTIN project, including three teachers ZNU Faculty of Journalism: Dean Viktor Kostiuk, Deputy Dean for International Affairs Katerina Sirinyok-Dolgaryova and Associate Professor of Journalism Iurii Kostiuk. Participants learned the basics of writing program descriptors, syllabi and methods of self-assessment of study programs in journalism.
