Recently, on the basis of the ZNU Sports and Recreation Complex, the Ukrainian Boxing Cup among men in different weight categories was held in ZNU with the participation of leading athletes from 22 regions of Ukraine.

In the Goethe-Institut, which operates on the basis of ZNU, a three-day seminar “Using textbooks for conducting classes with children” continues for the representatives of educational centers of the Goethe-Institut from Kharkiv, Sumy, Melitopol and Dnipro. 16 participants of the event from the East and South of Ukraine gathered together to talk with the referent of the Hueber publishing house Gund Hek.

The Day of European Projects was held in ZNU for the first time on October 22.  Its goal is to popularize project activities at the university, which is an important stage in the implementation of international projects “European Project Culture”, “Journalism Education for Democracy in Ukraine”, “European Values in Fiction Texts”, which are currently taking place in ZNU.

Experts on energy diplomacy visited ZNU on October 22-23, among them was Atanas Georgiev, associate professor of the Faculty of Economics, Business Administration of Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski and chairman of the board of directors of the Energy Management Institute, member of the board of directors of the EURELECTRIC association, member of the National Advisory Committee of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute Slavcho Neykov, who has 25 years of uninterrupted experience in the energy sector.  Leading experts in the energy sector shared with students the knowledge and unique practical experience of “energy diplomacy”.

The first classes of the new school year began in the Confucius School of ZNU on October 22.  On the eve of the organizational meeting, which was attended by the director of the Confucius School from ZNU, professor Volodymyr Volkov, the dean of the Institute of Russian Philology of the Ankhoy Pedagogical University (People's Republic of China), who had been teaching for a year in ZNU as part of the activities of the Confucius School - professor Gen Liping, and  representatives of the Chinese side, for the first time joined the Confucius School - the director of the Confucius School of ZNU from the Chinese side, deputy dean of the faculty of international education of the Ankhoy Pedagogical University (China), director of the School of Confucius U Shihong and professor of Chinese and English languages in the School of Confucius Xia Yuesya.

ZNU hosted the official meeting of the director of the Confucius School of ZNU from the Chinese side of U Shihong and the professor of Chinese and English languages Xia Yusya with ZNU rector Mykola Frolov, first vice rector Oleksandr Bondar, and vice rectors Hennadii Vasylchuk, Serhii Kushnir and director of the Confucius School of ZNU Volodymyr Volkov, and professor of the faculty of Foreign languages Olha Tupakhina.

Zaporizhzhia national university was visited by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Sweden in Ukraine Mr. Martin Haastri.  His arrival took place in the framework of the presentation of the exhibition "AccessAbility. To live with dignity despite the fate", organized by the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine, the Swedish Institute, the National Assembly of People with Disabilities in Ukraine and ZNU.

The opening ceremony of the Literary Competition by Taras Shevchenko was held in in the College of Economics and Law on 18 October.

An award ceremony was held at the Youth Center for the participants of the IV regional competition of social advertising “You choose” on October 11.  It should be mentioned, that the competition is concentrated on developing the creativity of the contestants, moral education and promotion of a healthy lifestyle, promoting volunteering, forming a conscious and caring attitude to society and the environment.  The initiator and leader of student work was Tetiana Ivanets, associate professor at the Department of Theory of Communication, Advertising and Public Relations.
