On 8 May 4-8, 2026, representatives of Zaporizhzhia National University (ZNU) – Head of the Department of English Philology and Linguodidactics Natalia Nadtochii, Associate Professor of the Department of Pre-school and Primary Education Yulia Zubtsova, and Associate Professor of the Department of General Mathematics Marina Hrechnieva – took part in a study visit to the University of Primorska (Koper, Slovenia).

Last week, the University of Tartu (Estonia) hosted the first study visit for participants in the Erasmus+ BEAUCOUP project from Ukrainian universities and partners from Slovenia and Spain. ZNU was represented by Rector Galina Shilo, Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Science Denys Morozov, and Associate Professor of the Department of Journalism Tetiana Rohova.

Lecturers from ZNU met with their colleagues from the Erasmus+ KA2 BEAUCOUP project

The starting online meeting as part of the Erasmus+ KA2 BEAUCOUP project brought together representatives from three countries – Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Estonia. Around 160 participants from various educational institutions – including Zaporizhzhia National University (ZNU), V. Hnatiuk Ternopil National Pedagogical University, V. Korolenko Poltava National Pedagogical University, M. Kotsyubynsky Vinnytsia State Pedagogical University, Khazar University (Baku), Mingachevir State University, and the Nakhchivan Pedagogical Institute – joined the programme in order to acquire the knowledge needed to meet today’s challenges, particularly in teaching, and to continuously improve themselves in line with the demands of the digital age.

Our reading habits have drastically changed in the XXI century: we are now reading e-texts as often as print ones, which makes e-reading an inalienable part of our lives. But such popularity of digital reading poses a problem for teaching, as approaches to developing e-reading skills may differ from traditional ones. The Erasmus+ eRead project was initiated to bridge this gap. Zaporizhzhia National University joined the partnership. ZNU team includes the teachers from the Faculty of Foreign Philology and the Philological Faculty, who specialize in methods of teaching languages.

 On November 3, 2023, a meeting of managers and coordinators of the international project "Erasmus+ KA2 MultiEd" "Foreign Language Teacher Training Capacity Development as a Way to Ukraine’s Multilingual Education and European Integration” took place. Its purpose was to discuss the results of the project, which is finishing on November 14, 2023.

MultiED partners held workshops on sharing experiences

From September 26 to October 30, 2023, a number of seminars were held in the framework of the project "Foreign Language Teacher Training Capacity Development as a Way to Ukraine’s Multilingual Education and European Integration" with the aim of spreading experience based on the results of the project implementation. This time, the partners focused on the positive impact of the project on the educational activities of universities at the current stage and in the future, the development of programs at different levels, the specifics of their implementation, the main difficulties and ways to overcome them. An important topic remains the teaching method, the use of online learning technologies, the CLIL methodology, as well as the specifics of teaching new courses developed during the period of cooperation of the consortium: "Language, culture, society", "Academic writing", "Information literacy and critical thinking".

The representatives of Zaporizhzhia National University presented ZNU team during LTT visit in Slovenia

The representatives of Zaporizhzhia National University Olga Stadnichenko, professor, head of the Department of Ukrainian Studies, and Iryna Bakalenko, associate professor of the Department of the Ukrainian Literature presented ZNU team during LTT visit within the framework of the Erasmus+ project 2022-1-EE01-KA220-HED-000089331 eRead “Developing Reading Skills With and Through Digital Technologies”. The event took place on October 9-13, 2023 in the city of Koper (Slovenia). As eRead aims at popularizing national languages (Ukrainian, Estonian, Latvian, Slovenian) through the development of reading skills on digital platforms, the purpose of the visit was to share experiences in teaching reading with the use of digital technologies.
