February, 25 yet another session of Young Physicist School was held, created last year by the Faculty of Physics, ZNU in collaboration with Research and Methodological Centre under Administration for Education of Municipal Council (Energodar) and Teaching and Education Complex # 5.
Dean of the Faculty of Physics, associate professor A. Dobrun together with the head for the Department of Physics of Metals, vice dean for studies and senior lecturer of the Department of Semiconductors Physics have carried out classes for secondary school students in Energodar town.
On requests from local teachers associate professor A. Dobrun gave class on ‘Electric current in semiconductors’ for 9 class students. Professor Girzhon introduced students to basic concepts of relativistic mechanics and relativity theory, whereas senior lecturer A. Kulinych studied with 11 class students the topic of ‘Optics’, speaking on photometry elements, luminous flux, luminous intensity, illuminance etc.
According to school teachers’ comments all the classes were evaluated with the highest grade 5. As to the students, they were really engaged with the material taught and had a range of questions which received exhaustive explanation by the University educators.
In March, 2012 school students will undertake a series of laboratory assignments at the Faculty of Physics in ZNU.
Having finished with the classes, our scholars met with Energodar school graduates, who have registered for External Independent Evaluation in Physics and Mathematics. The school students were provided with consistent and exhaustive information on the Faculty of Physics itself, admission requirements, scientific areas and attainments made by the departments, specialities and qualifications.
The meeting was carried out due to Research and Methodological Centre of Education Administration of Municipal Council (Energodar).
