March, 30 within the framework of Lviv Days celebrated for the first time in Zaporizhzhya, a renowned expert in Lviv Studies Ilko Lemko paid visit to Zaporizhzhya National University. The meeting with professors and students appeared to be both consistent and engaging.
Those who have already had a chance to visit Lviv are aware of the fact, that this ancient city staggers with its unique identity, old history, architectural memorials that are on UNESCO world treasure list, a great many of multi-topic festivals and cultural events. 
The guest told to the academic community of a string of remarkable and sometimes even little-known facts on the history of his native city. For example, the first Ukrainian hospital of ‘Holy Spirit’ was opened in Lviv in 1375; the first Jesuit Academy on the territory of Ukraine and Russia was established in 1606; the first Ukrainian newspaper of “Zorya Halytska” was issued in Lviv in 1848 and so on and so forth. Mr. Ilko Lemko mentioned of Ukrainian-Russian and Ukrainian-Polish relationships between Halytsia princes and looked into the history of the city’s international relations.
Our Lviv guest pointed out, that the dialogue initiated between our cities is aimed at developing multilateral relations between the Cossacks’ cradle 
and the city of Lev, having been created on the verge of Euroatlantic and Eurasian cultures.
Meanwhile, a celebration was held at Festyvalna square, visited by deputy mayor of Lviv Vasyl Kosiv, tourism business representatives and “Shokolad” (Chocolate) jazz band. Vasyl Kosiv passed greetings from the city of Lev to Zaporizhzhya residents having stressed, that we should increase the number of visits to our cities:
“We are assured, that Lviv residents should come to Zaporizhzhya more often in order to be aware of and understand what does the Cossacks’ land and Khortytsia island represent. I am convinced the quantity of the cultural trips will increase and we hope that our youth will take advantage of exchange programmes provided by the universities. This is the utmost we can do so that our young generation would have better knowledge of our cities’ history, thus depriving the ill-wishers of the possibility to separate us” (after materials from www.meria.zp.ua)
