October 5, the roundtable dedicated to recently submitted for discussion »Libel Law» at the Verkhovna Radaand other topical socio-political themes held at the faculty of the Faculty of Journalism. The third year student Olga Lebedeva was the moderator and the initiator of the event.
The session was attended by the students of such specialties as «Journalism», «Publishing & Editing» (Faculty of Journalism) й «Political Science» (Faculty of Social Sciences and Administration).
During the event, the participants tried to figure out what political consequences can bring the case of Julia Timoshenko and foreign resolution on it. Is an attempt to adopt the «Defamation Law» a real threat or political intrigue? They also discussed the language issue and regional speculations around it.
All these issues have caused fruitful discussion among the participants. Future journalists, editors and political scientists wanted to speak on important matters. The discussion participants concluded that anyone can try to improve the socio-political situation in Ukraine. The main thing is not to be indifferent and not afraid to express your own opinion.
