December 8, ZNU Faculty of Philology held the roundtable on "Creativity as Miracle Made Phenomena: A Modern View of the Nature and Purpose of Art". It was attended by artistic circles of Zaporizhzhya, ZNU lecturers and students.
The initiators of the event were the head of the literary association in the Regional Writer's Union of Ukraine Anna Lupinos and Docent of ZNU Department of Russian Philology Oksana Temna.
The impetus for the meeting became the last year's visit of the well-known literary critic, member of one of the most authoritative Russian journals - "New World" - Sergiy Kostirko. Sergei Pavlovich while answering the audience's questions about his relationship to contemporary poetry, sadly noted that the work of contemporary writers gave him ambivalent attitude: these days there were many authors who masterfully used the artistic means, but their works were lack of the most important thing - Poetry.
Thanks to this thesis, the meeting brought together a number of the issues to discuss at the roundtable: what purpose and essence have art for modern writers; where is the line between craft and art. In order to find out the journalist, poet, head of the literary club "99" Oles Barlig, poet and translator Oleksandr Medko, fantastic fiction writer Andrew Vahlaev-Vysotsky, poets Olena Kviten, Myhailo Buryak, Myhailo Perchenko, Sana Praedgardenson, Anastasia Sibirska visit our university.
The next meeting of Zaporizhzhya writers with students is scheduled for March 2013.
