December 26, the roundtable in topic “Myths of Ecology” took place in Zaporizhzhya national university.
The event is traditionally organized by ZNU SSSP of the Faculty of Biology. The head of SSSP of the Biological Faculty Ludmila Makeyeva reported that the students of the ІІІ – V courses had participated in the roundtable.
The Dean of the Faculty of Biology, ProfessorLudmila Omelyanchik opened the session. She welcomed the participants of the forum and reminded that many issues of the planet's ecology restoration depended on scientists and on each individual. The Head of General and Applied Ecology and Zoology Department Oleksandr Rilskiy said that mankind was responsible for maintaining the ecology, caused the most changes in the natural environment.
This year students-biologists have discussed the following topics: "Theory of Improbabilities. Life after Oil ", "Krakatoa Volcano Eruption", "Mud Volcanoes", "Cuvier's Catastrophism", "An Asteroid Strike on Earth" and many other issues.
At the end of the session lecturers and SSSP members of the Biological Faculty summarized the results of the year and awarded the most active young scientists. Katerina Plotnikova, Vladislav Moseiko, Anastasia Kobilyatska, Julia Legeza, Roman Eremenko and Ludmila Makeyeva were received the diplomas.
