Roundtable on the Specification of Vasilivka Establishment Date Took Place in ZNU Faculty of History
January 30, the roundtable on "Problems of the Finding Zaporizhzhya Region Settlements' Roots: New Documents from the Foundation of Vasilivka".
The event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Vasilivka historical and architectural museum-reserve "Popov Manor", brought together the representatives of Zaporizhzhya and Vasilivka scientific community, employees of the Zaporizhzhya Regional State Administration and public organizations.
Among the organizers of the event – Zaporizhzhya Regional State Administration of Culture, Tourism, Nationalities and Religion, Vasilivka District Council, Vasilivka Regional State Administration, Vasilivka City Council, Vasilivka historical and architectural museum-reserve "Popov Manor" and ZNU, Novitsky Scientific, Grushevskiy Institute of Ukrainian Archeology and Source of the NAS of Ukraine, Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, Zaporizhzhya branch of Kowalsky Eastern Ukrainian Institute, Zaporizhzhya Regional Museum of Arts, Society for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments, State Archives of Zaporizhzhya region, JSC "Zaporizhstal" and JSC "Motor Sich".
The reason of the meeting was the publication of two new documents that allow to specify the date of Vasilivka establishment: an order of Empress Catherine II to transfer the land to General Vasily Popov and his own diaries.
