Faculty of Economics held a seminar dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the “On Auditing” Law of Ukraine adoption
he Faculty of Economics of our University held a scientific and practical seminar “Audit: the present issues and development” on May 23. The organizers of this seminar were Zaporizhzhya territorial office of the of Ukraine, Zaporizhzhya National University and the Department of Accounting and Auditing of the Faculty of Economics .They dedicated this event to the 20th anniversary of the “On Auditing” Law of Ukraine adoption. The celebratory seminar brought together not only the teachers and students of our university, but also the honored guests, such as the leading auditors of the region, including those who stood at the origins of the legal and regulatory base for the activity of the representatives of this profession and are related to its successful development.
In her welcoming speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, professor Alla Cherep congratulated the audience with the “anniversary” of the law adoption; this law is important for the Ukrainian economy in general and auditing in particular. Alla Vasylivna reminded the students of the specialty "Accounting and auditing" about the main stages of development of the national audit. In particular, she stressed the fact that Ukraine was the first that adopted the relevant law on the territory of the former Soviet Union and the auditors of our region played the important role in this case.
During her speech Larysa Tsereteli, the Head of Zaporizhzhya territorial office of the Auditors Union of Ukraine highlighted the most important development stages of this highly qualified specialists association. Yes, she noted the merits of auditors in Zaporizhzhya region in the promotion of their profession in the early 90s of the last century. Larysa Grygorivna said that during the existence of the territorial office there were six regional conferences on various aspects of auditing in our city. She also reminded the audience that the members of this department are planning to hold another conference on the same level before the anniversary date.
The chairman of the Commission on Quality Control and Professional Ethics of the Auditing Chamber of Ukraine, General Director of “Audit-Vyd” (“Audit-Type”), the former head of Zaporizhzhya territorial office of the Auditors Union of Ukraine Volodymyr Drach told at the seminar about the role and importance of the Audititing Chamber of Ukraine in the organization and development of the audit in Ukraine.
The associate professor of the Department of Accounting and Auditing of Zaporizhzhya National University Nelya Proskurina in her report highlighted the current state of the domestic audit in Ukraine and the vectors of its further development.
At the seminar the honored guests of the event and representatives from the Faculty of Economics of our university also presented their reports devoted to the contemporary auditors preparation, methodological support of the auditor practice at the present stage of development, the role of the Federation of Professional Accountants and Auditors of Ukraine in the development of this profession and so on.
At the end of the seminar the students of the Faculty of Economics organized a small concert to emphasize the celebratory format of the event. The students of the Faculty of Economics Oleksandr Afonin, Yevgen Petrenko, Alina Sur and Alina Stalyeva presented to the participants their songs.
