Scientific Readings Dedicated to the Creation of the Slavic Alphabet Took Place at ZNU Philology Faculty
ZNU Faculty of Philology celebrated 1150 years of Slavonic alphabet created by missionary brothers Cyril and Methodius. Associate Professor of Russian Philology Department Galina Tomilina organized the academic readings for the students dedicated to this date.
Head of the Departmet of Russian Philology, Professor Irina Pavlenko, Associate Professor of the same Department Svitlana Ditkova and Ukrainian Philology Department Docent Larisa Boiko as well as the students of the first course (specialty "Russian language and literature") and 1st and 3-rd courses (specialty "Ukrainian language and literature") attended the event.
The first report was made by Galina Tomilina herself. It was dedicated to the development of Slavic and Cyrillic writing in Russian. Galina Yakivna noted that the celebrations of Slavonic Writing was special, because of the important place of the saints Cyril and Methodius in the church and in secular history.
Freshmen students Karina Osepyan ("The feat of the Slavic educators - Cyril and Methodius") and Inna Bogdanova ("Slavic writing system and its origin") presented their scientific explorations.
