The Third National Scientific Conference of Students, Postgraduates and Young Scientists were held at the Faculty of Biology of ZNU
The Third National Scientific Conference of Students, Postgraduates and Young Scientists “Actual problems and prospects of science” was held on May 25 at the Faculty of Biology of ZNU. This year the conference was organized by Zaporizhzhya National University, Dnepropetrovsk National University of Oles Gonchar, Zaporizhzhya State Medical University and the National Park “Khortytsya”.
The conference was attended by the representatives of the higher educational institutions from all the regions of Ukraine:

The official opening and gala concert program, prepared by the activists of Student Council Faculty of Biology of ZNU was waiting for the participants of the conference.
With welcoming speech before the participants performed Viktor Gryschak, the Vice-Rector of ZNU, Dr. Tech. S., and professor, honored worker of SciTech of Ukraine and Lyudmyla Omelyanchik, Dean of the Biological Faculty of ZNU, D. Pharm. S., and professor. Elena Popazova, Deputy Chairman of the Scientific Society of undergraduate and postgraduate students of Biological Faculty, the host of the event also joined the sincere wishes. She thanked the administration of our university, Dean of the Faculty of Biology Lyudmyla Omelyanchik for supporting the young people in all their endeavors and for the opportunity to hold the events of such level.
Kateryna Akula, the chairman of the public council of the executive committee of Zaporizhzhya municipal council visited the opening of the conference to cover the project “Ecolight”, which had first started at the Faculty of Biology of ZNU among the other universities in Zaporizhzhya. She also noted the winners of this contest. They were students of the 3rd year on specialty “Ecology, Environmental Protection and Balanced Nature” Anastasia Skokova, Anastasia Plotnikova and Kateryna Kobylyatska. Students received some useful prizes such as the disk drives for information with the original design. Moreover, the multifunctional device for printing and copying documents was presented to the Faculty of Biology, CERPC “Ecology” for the active participation in this and other environmental projects.
Today the fruitful scientific activity is impossible without exchange of scientific achievements of various scientific schools. This exchange of scientific information can be realized through the participation in conferences, academic competitions, contests, student exchange programs between the universities, internships, research grants. For the self-fulfillment in the grant programs the Conference members in plenary session were offered the report “Scientific Careers: Search extrabudgetary funding” by Natalya Rubtsova, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Biology of the international work.
98 participants (students, postgraduate students, young scientists, guests) worked in 6 sections:
- “Genetics and breeding of plants. Applied Botany and Plant Physiology. Landscaping and ornamental crops”;
- “Chemistry”; 
- “Nature and Environment. Entomology”;
- “Immunology and Biochemistry”;
- “Human Physiology and Ecology”;
- “Zoology and Animal Ecology”.
Summarizing the results of the sessions at the conference the Dean of Biological Faculty of ZNU Lyudmyla Omelyanchik thanked everyone for their fruitful work and high level of scientific research, presented at the event, wished inspiration in future work and presented certificates to 11 participants who were recommended to mark in each of the sections.
The Conference participants from other cities of Ukraine had the opportunity not only to report on their work, but also to relax, get a good impression about our Zaporizhzhya region, visit the Zoological Museum of ZNU and interesting excursions, for example, on river tram around Khortytsya island, go “The way to Sich” and view the exhibits of Zaporozhian Cossacks Museum at the glorious Khortytsya island.
The participation in such conferences provides an opportunity not only to present their research on which most of the Conference members are working not for one year, but also to meet like-minded people, learn new and interesting things.
