October 15 at Zaporizhzhya National University held a roundtable meeting, "Social interaction of energy-saving technology activities in the European Union project / program of the United Nations (EU / UNDP) "Local Development to Community Based Approach - II'". The organizers of the event were members of the EU / UNDP Project "Local Development to Community Based Approach - II", Faculty of Social Sciences and Administration and Faculty of Physics of ZNU, representatives of the administration and economic and educational department of our university.
The event was attended by Deputy Head of the Territorial Administration State Energy Efficiency of Ukraine in Zaporizhzhya Oblast Volodymyr Behal, director of "Engineering Center "Teplostar"" Volodymyr Shcherbinin, coordinator of the EU / UNDP Project "Local Development to Community Based Approach - II" in Zaporizhzhya region Oleksandr Ryabyj.
Zaporizhzhya National University was represented at the meeting Vice-Rector for Maintenance and Supply Sergiy Kushnir, Rector’s Assistant Nataliya Voronova, Chief Accountant Vasyl Tymoshik, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Administration, D.Litt., professor Maksim Lepsky, Dean of the Faculty of Physics, associate professor Andriy Andreev, Deputy Dean for Education of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Administration, associate professor Anna Boyko, 3rd year students of Faculty of Mathematics (specialization "Software Engineering") Vadim and Vladislav Ternovi. The moderator of the event was senior lecturer of the Department of Sociology of ZNU Inna Rotaryeva. Also, the roundtable was attended by students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Administration and the Faculty of Physics.
The round table discussion started with the report Vice-Rector for Maintenance and Supply Sergiy Kushnir "Possibilities of energy saving technologies in Zaporizhzhya National University". Sergiy Mykolayovych said that in our university already for a long time and comprehensively approached the problems energy saving and energy efficiency. This made it possible to talk about significant developments in this area. So, for the last heating season, thanks to implementation of automatic weather in all academic buildings and energy systems of production control and losses of heat of ZNU could save a million UAH, that are used to create the plant for fabrication of metal-plastic windows that completely satisfies the demand in it at our university. Also experts of scientific training laboratory on energy effectiveness and energy saving created on the basis of our university, have completed appropriate training and soon will receive certificates that will give them the right to do thermal passport of buildings not only for their own needs, but for everyone. Among the plans of our university that announced Sergiy Kushnir, - creation on the basis of ZNU an energy area that our universities have provided an opportunity to test a variety of energy saving technology and demonstrate it to all comers and if necessary, provide training in this area.
In the report of Deputy Head of the Territorial Administration State Energy Efficiency of Ukraine in Zaporizhzhya Oblast Volodymyr Behal dealt with the direction of energy efficiency organizations and industrial facilities of Ukraine and director of "Engineering Center "Teplostar"" Volodymyr Shcherbinin chose the theme of his presentation "Possible storage systems and renewable energy uses". In their presentations represented, that Zaporizhzhya National University as a true leader of education and one of the first in this field contributed the solving actual problem of energy saving and of energy efficiency. Both speakers also expressed a desire to meet again with the students of our university to discuss the proposed topic more, and expressed the hope that in the future companies will base their trainings for students of physical and mathematical faculties.
coordinator of the EU / UNDP Project "Local Development to Community Based Approach - II" in Zaporizhzhya region Oleksandr Ryabyj shared the experience of energy saving technologies in international development projects. In particular, he stressed the importance of alternative energy sources - such as plants for the production of wind, solar, thermal energy of the earth, etc. He also spoke about the cooperation with our university and hoped that students of ZNU will participate in the project, considering participation in certain areas of its activities as an opportunity to do practical and scientific work.
Another important aspect of energy saving in our universities, in his speech revealed Dean of the Faculty of Physics, associate professor Andriy Andreev. In his report, "Innovative technologies and discoveries in the field of energy (for example, energy-saving activities of teachers and students of ZNU)" dealt with the training and educational activities of ZNU in this area. On the basis of educational and scientific laboratory of efficiency and energy saving arose different ages creative team, which included students of ZNU, pupils of Zaporizhzhya region and Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Under the guidance of experienced teachers, they created several energy systems, received patents for inventions and utility models having taken prizes in numerous competitions for young inventors.
Performances of 3rd year students of the Faculty of Mathematics (specialization "Software Engineering") Vadim and Vladislav Ternovi became a successful illustration of the story of Andriy Mykolajovych. They showed video on creation and purpose of the wave power plant that runs on the energy of waves and demonstrated awards received during this collective invention. Incidentally, this setup received not only gold medals in Sevastopol, which hosted the competition inventors, but also at the international competition in Poland.
Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Administration, D.Litt., professor Maksim Lepsky in his speech of Social technologies on joint efforts of business energy saving activities in the EU / UNDP Project "Local Development to Community Based Approach - II" stressed the particular importance of collaboration to solve urgent issues.
Deputy Dean for Education of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Administration, associate professor Anna Boyko told the audience of the meeting on "Education culture of energy saving by students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Administration of Zaporizhzhya National University".
At the end the roundtable meeting Vice-Rector for Maintenance and Supply Sergiy Kushnir noted that puts great hopes that this event will positively affect the further development of ZNU in energy efficiency in the search for partners for our university in this important case, and on education culture of energy saving by our students.
