December 10 at the Law Faculty of Zaporizhzhya National University held a scientific-practical conference "The credibility of judicial power as one of the basic principles of civil society". Organized by the Student Council of ZNU, Scientific Community of Students and Postgraduates and City Youth Organization "Our own house".
The event visited by Rector of ZNU Mykola Frolov, Vice-Rector for Maintenance and Supply Sergiy Kushnir, Dean of the Law Faculty Tetyana Kolomoets and special guests - Head of Appeal Court of Zaporizhzhya region Victor Gorodovenko, the Head of City Youth Organization "Our own house" Sergiy Atamanchuk, attorney of lawyer association "Caesar" Olexander Gorobets, a representative of the law firm "Legal strategy" Semen Skrypniuk. In the conference took part students - future lawyers and journalists.
Moderator of the event was Head of Scientific Community of Students and Postgraduates Ivan Shumeyko – welcomed the participants and said that the theme of the conference is very relevant because it reveals the problems of the judiciary, whose credibility among society today is low and needs to increase.
With words of congratulations to the other speakers were also addressed co-organizer of the conference, Head of City Youth Organization "Our own house" Sergiy Atamanchuk, Head of Student Council of the Faculty of Law Anatoliy Shashkov and his Deputy Oleksiy Krasov.
During the conference with their presentations were performed law students: Kateryna Luzan, Nataliya Malyshenko, Sergiy Tyapkin, Oleksiy Rengevych, Yulia Vorozhtsova, Dmytro Kalnysh and Dariya Stepanchenko. They highlighted the main problems of judicial power, determined to building an effective judicial system in Ukraine and ways to enhance its credibility among civil society.
Students of the Faculty of Journalism Kateryna Syvash and Yuliya Stets during their performances described the basic methods of improving the legal culture of citizens through the mass media.
Of particular interest among those present raised the reports of conference guests, practicing lawyers - Semen Skrypniuk ("The problem of rationality in terms of processes and delays actors") and Olexander Gorobets ("How to convince a judge of the correctness of your position?").
At the end of the event Head of Appeal Court of Zaporizhzhya region Victor Gorodovenko thanked the participants of the conference for presented reports and answered questions from students. In addition, Victor Valentynovych invited all those present to come on Friday in Appeal Court of Zaporizhzhya region Open Door Day, as well as an open lecture on "Reform of judicial power", which will be hold on Saturday at 9:35 in the audience 50 of 1st academic building of ZNU.
