For the fourth consecutive year on the eve of May Day in the walls of the Center "English for kids" of Zaporizhzhya National University was held events dedicated to the end of the academic year.
29-30 April took place open classes with small graduates of the Center, which was attended by children's parents, teachers and Director of the Foreign Languages Study Center Natalia Kostenko.
Note that the first group (teacher - Varvara Petrosova) visits the Center for two years. During the classes, dedicated to the topic "Profession", children answered the teacher's questions, talked about their parents' professions, what profession they themselves want to select in the future. Children also recited poems, played their favorite games, and most importantly - demonstrated their first reading skills. Classes are conducted entirely in English.
Pupils of the second and third groups (teacher - Rashel Faria) studying the first year, but already showing good results. Classes are held in a form of the game: children on a makeshift train went on a fabulous journey studying English, stopped at "stations", which focused on such topics as "Alphabet", "Fruits", "Digitals", "Animals" and others. Each of the "station" children demonstrated their knowledge of the vocabulary from the proposed topics and recited poems about mothers and sang songs together.
At the end of the event the children received certificates for successful completion of training and encouraging gifts.
After the holiday Director of the Foreign Languages Study Center Natalia Kostenko noted: «We understand the importance of learning foreign languages today, because it is a priority at our university. We are proud of the achievements of our first young graduates, as these first steps lay the basis for further language study. We hope that this knowledge will be useful to help children and confidently hold to enroll in school, and even when traveling with parents abroad».
