In ZNU students met with veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the combatants in Afghanistan

May 7 to celebrate the Victory Day meeting between the student youth of Zaporizhzhya National University of Great Patriotic War veterans and veterans of the war in Afghanistan, which aims patriotic upbringing of the younger generation.

At the meeting with the young generation made their way Head of the Union of Afghanistan Veterans of Zaporizhzhya Viktor Holovchenko, Deputy Head Dmytro Moskovtsev, and also Head of the City of disabled veterans and the Armed Forces, veteran of World War II Volodymyr Volobuiev and children of the war: Olena Dem’ianivna Lytvynova and math teacher with 50 years experience Halyna Fylypivna Polska. On the chest of war heroes shining medals for courage and bravery.
The meeting was organized by representatives of the Faculty of Law of ZNU, including lecturer of the Department of Theory of State and Law of ZNU Anzhela Sereda, who thanked the veterans for their courage and heroism, and wished them good health, happiness and longevity.
Host of the event, a 1st year student of the Law Faculty Oleksii Kalonov prepared to present a report on the lessons of the Great Patriotic War. A veteran shared with students his memories of fighting in the war and occupation, spoke about the major milestones of his career. Thus, the 89-year-old veteran of World War II Volodymyr Volobuiev, drafted into the army in 18-year-old, told the students that they took the oath without waiting awards. He remembered his active participation in a military operation "Bagration" and other intelligence operations, combat patrols, the liberation of our country from fascist occupation assault on Germany and assault Koninsberhu. Volodymyr Volobuiev ended Great Patriotic War in 19 years, but continued military service in Turkmenistan, Siberia, Ukraine and Germany, leading a team of intelligence and engaging in training troops in Czechoslovakia. At the end of his speech, he wished to young luck, happiness and persistence in achieving goals.
War veteran Halyna Polska, native Crimea, shared memories of his childhood during the war, bombing Dzhankoi her hometown of years of training, lack of textbooks, supplies, classes for training and clothing. «I will never forget the buzz bombers panic mothers and children. So I wish today's young generation of clear sky overhead, good health, happiness, warmth and love to your loved ones», - noted Halyna Polska.
Also, her childhood memories of the years spent in the occupation, shared Olena Dem’ianivna Lytvynova. In her view, war determine conscience also consciousness of the people, and ignorance of the history of its people - is ignorance.
Their stories was accompanied guests photos, singing songs with a guitar. Also, they all stressed the need for a sound knowledge also a healthy lifestyle in order to be ready at any moment to defend their country.
In his speech,Head of the Union of Afghanistan Veterans of Zaporizhzhya Viktor Holovchenko noted that students have every opportunity to show their best qualities and be patriots of their country. «Today I would like to thank all the veterans who are continually doing everything for the education of today's youth patriotism, forming her readiness to defend the homeland and by example dealing with the patriotic education of our children, especially in this difficult time. Now in this room, I see many students who are educated in the spirit of patriotism, who know from their parents about how important it is peace and tranquility, stability and order. Our main enemy - this indifference and irresponsibility. Today we would like to explain to students the example of the witnesses what war and what consequences it brings any state and society», - noted Viktor Holovchenko. In addition, he wished all present to their children and family has never felt all the horrors of war.
Afghan war veteran Dmytro Moskovtsev also shared with the students his memories of the war years 1979-1989. Addressing the audience in the hall, he expressed his respect and honor all veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the war in Afghanistan. For those who have visited Afghanistan and now the sight facing horrific pictures of battles, face comrades who were killed, and at night dreaming nightmarish dreams. Many young soldiers in Afghanistan were awarded orders and medals, but the highest reward of those who survived are living and the dead - the memory.
At the end of his speech, Dmytro Moskovtsev greeted the veterans on the occasion, wished them good health, endurance and enthusiasm, pep, happiness, peace, peace of mind, prosperity in our common home and sang a song in lyrics of Serhii Stepanovskii, is dedicated to our troops from Afghanistan, and a patriotic song about our native land.
Students of the Faculty of Law Iryna Kravchenko and Nina Zakarliuka read their poems on soldiers and heroes of the Great Patriotic War, and thanked veterans and children of war for the clear sky and for their great victory.
In addition, students prepared a report on the history of World War II: "The breakthrough line Watan", "Liberation of Zaporizhzhya" (Yelyzaveta Petrenko, Vladyslav Bandrovskyi), "Demining of Dneproges" (Anton Barlit).
In conclusion, the students greeted veterans of ZNU of the holiday on May 9 with flowers.
