Within the framework celebration of the Science Day awarded the best scholars of Zaporizhzhya National University
The Science Day at Zaporizhzhya National University - is not only a traditional holiday for all its Faculties and staff of young scientists, but also an occasion to sum up the last year of activities of our university, reward the best researchers and outline prospects for its further development in the scientific field.
So May 15 while specialized ceremonial session of the Scientific and Technical Council of our university not only heard the greeting addressed to all those who have connected their lives in service to science, but also the award ceremony for the winners of 
university contests of "Best Scientist 2013". Holiday for scientists of our university staff organized Scientific and Research Department of ZNU by the support of representatives of Cultural Center.
At the beginning of the grand event its hosts - members of the studio "STEM-MS" Cultural Center of ZNU student of the Faculty of Philology Yuliia Cheborai and student of the Faculty of Physical Education Mykhailo Mytko – reminded the audience about the history of this holiday: February 14, 1997 by the Decree of the President of Ukraine was established the professional holiday of workers of all science. Over the years, this day is a holiday and for the staff of our university. They are also invited to a welcome speech and rewarding the best scientists First Vice-Rector Oleksandr Bondar.
Oleksandr Bondar, welcoming all those present, noted: «Today, one of the most respected for our university holidays, we once again celebrate the achievements of our university and prove its great scientific potential. It is nice that the scientific component in the functioning of our university occupies an increasingly important place in particular this is due to the development of students' science. So all we are summarizing our activities over the past year, once again, have the right to note that our university - leading educational and scientific center of Zaporizhzhya region».
Oleksandr Bondar also presented certificates and statuettes of the Rector of the 1st university contest winners and scientific-pedagogical staff "Best Scientist 2013".
In the category "Professors" 1st degree diploma marked Dean of the Faculty of Biology Liudmyla Omelianchyk, 2nd degree diploma received Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Administration Maksym Lepskyi and Head of the Department of Landscape Design and Phytogenetics Victor Liakh, and third place in this category took Dean of the Faculty of Physical 
Education Mykola Malikov і Head of the Department of Russian Philology Iryna Pavlenko.
In the category "Associate professors, assistant professors" 1st degree diploma awarded associate professor of the Department of Game Management and Ichthyology Volodymyr Sarabieiev and professor of the Department of Journalism Oleh Synieokyi. The 2nd place took – associate professor of the Faculty of Mathematics of the Department of Information Technology Vadym Yermolaiev, and 3rd degree diplomas awarded professor of the Department of Translation Theory and Practice (English) Rusudan Makhachashvili and associate professor of the Department of General and Applied Ecology and Zoology Oleksandr Korzh.
In the category "Teachers, assistants" 1st place took teacher of the Department of Human Resources and Marketing Viktoriia Yarmosh. 2nd degree diplomas received assistant of the Department of Financial-Economic Security and Project Management Liliia Bekhter and assistant of the Department of Landscape Design Hanna Levchuk. 3rd degree diplomas awarded 
assistant of the Department of Immunology and Biochemistry Raisa Lytvynenko and assistant of the Department of History and Theory of State and Law Olena Zimenko.
As for the individual performance ratings in research activities Diplomas of the Rector presented the finalists of this contest. In particular, they noted Vice-Rector for Science and Research Victor Gristchak, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics, Head of the Department of Mathematical Modeling, professor Serhii Homeniuk, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Head of the Department of Publishing and Editing, professor Volodymyr Manakin and other Heads of Departments and professors, associate professors and teachers of our university.
At the end of the holiday the First Vice-Rector of ZNU Oleksandr Bondar awarded with Honorary diplomas and gratitudes of the Rector staff of our university and its doctoral candidates and postgraduate students for active participation in the organization of research, promotion of science and for outstanding achievements in scientific work.
