June 13 during a visit to Zaporizhzhya National University representatives of the NGO "Zaporizhzhya vector" and Charity Fund "Fund of good deeds" came to the Zoological Museum of ZNU.
In a solemn ceremony, they gave to museum Director Oleksandr Korotia furniture needed to improve the financial base of the institution - 20 seats. The event was attended by Vice-Rector for Educational Research and Academic Affairs Oleksandr Hura, Acting Rector’s Assistant on Public Relations and Media Halyna Mykytiv, teachers and students of our university, scientists-zoologists of the region and local media.
Vice-Rector for Educational Research and Academic Affairs Oleksandr Hura in an interview to the local media noted that ZNU and "Zaporizhzhya vector" is not for the first year of fruitful collaboration. «This time, representatives of civic and charitable organizations have taken care not only about the health of students, helping the university to open its own Bicycle parking and thereby encourage young people to engage in cycling, but also to expand the worldview of the student and youth of our country, as to the Zoological Museum ZNU often come on tour high school students of Zaporizhzhya schools», – highlighted Oleksandr Hura.
«High school students visiting our museum during career guidance excursions always in awe of its exhibits. However, inspection of all rooms, as well as a video takes a couple of hours, but in the end, children often feel tired. Now that created a more comfortable environment for excursions sure that the number of visitors to the museum will increase significantly», – noted museum Director Oleksandr Korotia.
Present at the event were interested unique exhibition of Zoological Museum, so Head of the Department of Game Management and Ichthyology, professor Valeriy Domnich held for them a tour, pointing out the most interesting and valuable exhibits and talked about their history. He also said that so numerous and diverse collection of insects, birds' eggs and stuffed animals, birds and fish of all over the world are unique not only in zoological collections of local universities, but also for all natural museums in Ukraine.
