Students of Zaporizhzhya National University - Alona Lepska (4th year of the Law Faculty) and Yelyzaveta Hlukhova (3rd year of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Administration) - took part in the III International Summer School "Social mobilization of local communities", which was held from 3 to 7 July at the ski resort Slavskoe (Carpathians).
III International Summer School organized a national network of partner universities with the support of the joint EU / UNDP Project "Local Development CBA." The purpose of this project - to help pilot rural communities to organize themselves together to identify priorities for the development of their locality and to improve living conditions in their own locality, having realized their own initiative.
Representatives of the University were able to come to school because of the victory in the competition of student works on a thematic direction "Sustainable Development with the participation of local communities".
More than 20 students from 13 universities in Ukraine during their visit to the summer school were able to gain invaluable experience of performing a variety of initiatives and projects at the community level.
During a visit to the Silesian students attended a lecture of international Project partner Dzheysinh Saha about the features and values of social mobilization in everyone's life.
Quite interesting were the lectures of software project managers: Oksana Remiha - "International experience of local development community" and Ihor Nazar - "The main steps of the project CBA", "Energy efficiency and the use of innovative technologies in the development of local communities".
Through participation in the school, students gained skills in the preparation of SWOT-analysis, development and presentation of business plans for the creation of cooperatives.
In addition, participants of the summer school visited village Nyzhnye Synyevydne members of the community who through collaboration with the project "Local development CBA" and its active role could solve a number of problems with use of the district and regional budgets. A project in this area was introduced in 2011 and has allowed to significantly improve the living standards of its population.
