ZNU Law Faculty students discussed current problems of electoral law

September 29 at the Law Faculty of Zaporizhzhya National Faculty was held a conference "Actual problems of electoral law and procedure in Ukraine and foreign countries", organized by Head of the Constitutional and Labor Law Deparment Hanna Zhuravlova and Ph.D. in Law Nataliia Verlos, LL.D., associate professor Illia Skvirskyi and other members of the Faculty.

In their speeches, the students focused on the Electoral Code as a means of improving the electoral law, comparative analysis of majoritarian and proportional electoral systems, the legal grounds for restricting of electoral law in foreign countries and other issues.
The program also includes conference will deal with the problem on election law - the principle of mandatory vote in the electoral process abroad, its applicability in the electoral process, the use of non-traditional legal principles of electoral systems in the modern world, the evolution of the principles of voting rights in the context of the formation of modern democracies, the problem of electoral law to women in the world, restrictions on voting rights in foreign countries, the implementation of the constitutional rights of citizens in the elections and abuse of the law in the electoral process.
Summing up the conference, Nataliia Verlos thanked all the participants, emphasized the need to optimize the electoral system in Ukraine by using Internet technologies and proposed a further discussion of the problems of electoral legislation on interfaculty level.
