The dynamic development of academic life of Zaporizhzhya National University was marked by an outstanding event. For the first time in the history of our university established Doctoral Specialized Scientific Council.
By the Order of MES of Ukraine of 06.03.2015 p. № 261 "On approval decisions of the Certifying Board of the Ministry's Specialized Scientific Councils of 26 February 2015" approved specialized scientific council D 17.051.01 with the right to review and conduct defense of thesis for the degree of D.Sc. and PhD in historical sciences in two specialties 07.00.01 "History of Ukraine" and 07.00.06 "Historiography, source and special historical discipline".
As a part of Special Council are leading historians of our university, D.Sc. from Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava.
Doctoral Specialized Scientific Council is the successor of candidate of historical sciences special council that exists in our universities since 1992. Most universities and academic institutions in the country now can be found researchers owe to special council of Zaporizhzhya for start of their scientific career. Gained over more than 20 years experience special council, its high professional level and potential recognition of the authority of the scientific school of Zaporizhzhya historians estimate approving thesis defense gave grounds for changing the status of special council.
