At ZNU discussing the history of national minorities in the 20th century

Today again is starting traditional scientific and practical conference "Zaporizhzhya Jewish reading - 2015", which will last two days. This time, historians and community communicate on "Studying the History of National Minorities in the 20th Century: from Holocaust to Modern Warfare".

The event brought together about a hundred representatives from different regions of Ukraine, including academics, community leaders and students. The event was organized by Zaporizhzhya National University, Ukrainian Institute for Studying the Holocaust "Tkuma" ("Renaissance") and Museum "Memory of the Jewish people and the Holocaust in Ukraine".
During the solemn session of the speakers were scientists of Zaporizhzhya and Dnipropetrovsk where they reviewed the historical development of international relations in European countries such as Ukraine, Russia and Germany, from the eighteenth century to the present time. The researchers stressed some difficult moments such interaction that presently manifested in negative processes that cause strife and conflict. To overcome these negative phenomena historians have said the public its say, still be very forthcoming.
During this conference the following day scientific meeting will be held also section "History and Historical Memory", "Philosophy and Philology" roundtable discussions on the topic "History as a Factor of Modern Social Development" and "Genocide and Ethnic Conflict in the Twentieth Century" the latter dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.
