The question of interaction between society and nature is quite urgent at present stage of human development. In industrial city of Zaporizhzhya this problem is extremely topical, because ecological state of our region is in crisis. Correspondingly ecology cannot but worry scientific society, and first of all youth, because it is youth who is interested in future life and its safety.
The first international conference of young scientists “Contemporary problems of ecology” began functioning yesterday at Zaporizhzhya National University.
The conference was arranged jointly by State administration of ecology and natural recourses in Zaporizhzhya region, Administration of Zaporizhzhya city council in charge of ecology and Institution of ecology “Biosphere”. More than 230 young scientists from all Ukrainian regions and Russia, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Bilorus and even China take part in the conference. Over 150 reports will be delivered, 7 sections will function (“Ecology of animals”, “Ecology of plants”, “Ecology of human”, “Industrial ecology”, “Problems of nature use”, “Protection of nature” and “Ecological education”).
Plenary session was held yesterday. Not only young scientists, management and scientific body of our university were present there, but also deputy head of regional state administration O. Zajkovs’ka, head of state administration of ecology and natural recourses in Zaporizhzhya region S. Bogun, head of administration in charge of youth and family affairs of Zaporizhzhya regional state administration A. Skliaruk, head hunting scientist of Zaporizhzhya regional administration of forestry M. Luginin and others.
Young ecologists work in sections today. Social and entertainment arrangements are planned together with scientific work. Conference participants will meet head of regional state administration Yu. Artemenko in the afternoon.
Afterwards young scientists will go to Khortitsa in order to perform an ecological action – plant one hundred young oaks.
Visit of horse theatre “Zaporizhzhya kozaks” will finish the program.
