Polish students met the students of ZNU faculty of journalism in frame on Polish visit to Zaporizhzhya State University. The conversation was dedicated to the role of mass-media in modern world.

Beforehand both our countries belonged to socialist camp, and now Poland is member of NATO and European union. Having analyzed informational space in both countries, participants of the round table came to the conclusion that the problems of contemporary journalism are similar everywhere. First of all mass-media are economically dependent on their owners and politically preconceived. Also students talked about low level of civil responsibility and informational culture. They noticed that people are not inclined to compare messages of different media and they limit to information from one source.

At the end of the meeting deputy dean of ZNU faculty of journalism Viktor Kostiuk presented a book “War and peace” to the guests, the book was provided by library of “Day” newspaper and is dedicated to relations between Poland and Ukraine from ancient times till nowadays.
