ZNU veteran Arkadiy Stepanovich BROVKO, specialist in Russian philology, author of more than 100 publications in lingvo-stylistics, phraseology and on alternative syntax problem is celebrating his 80th birthday!
Arkadiy BROVKO was working as an assistant, assistant professor and head of a chair in ZNU between 1955 and 2001, when he retired. Students and colleagues remember him to be a reliable and exacting teacher, a real professional in the field of philology. He is the author of substantial research on the life and creative work of Yakov Novyts’kyy, famous Ukrainian scientist, Corresponding Member of Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, ethnographer, local lore researcher, historian, folklorist, archeologist, statistician, naturalist and in addition great-grandfather of Arkadiy Brovko. In the reference-book “Who Is Who In Modern Russian Philology”, edited by Russian Language Institute of Academy of Sciences of Russian Federation, Arkadiy Brovko is the only scientist from Zaporizhzhya among 21 Ukrainian researchers in the list of greatest specialists in Russian philology. We are proud of great achievements of our Teacher, who will always be an example of a man deserving greatest respect and glory.
