Press-Center of Zaporizhzhya National University was created on January, 1 of 2006. For the present day its work includes coordination of such branches: regional academic newspaper «Zaporizhzhya University», its addition «The Ninth Floor» - the newspapers of hostels of ZNU; student magazine «Dziga»; local TV-studio «Universe-TV» and the first all-Ukrainian FM-radio-station «Universe».
Activities of the Press-Center are rather wide and various. To its assignments belong complete and all-round informing about University life on the site www.znu.edu.ua. Press-Center collaborates with regional mass-media – sends press-releases for every interesting action in ZNU, gives additional data, in particular, short biographic receipts about honorary guests of the university, dynamics of development of the main projects et cetera.
Workers of the Press-Center ZNU conduct photo-archive of the University (about outstanding figures of Zaporizhzhya National University and important affairs and actions that happen in it walls). All these photo-materials are regularly renewed at the photo-exhibition «University Day by Day» in the hall of the first building of ZNU. Besides, this department conducts the general annals of ZNU that include materials from the site and that, published in all-Ukrainian and regional mass-media.
The department works on the data base of public relations of the University and regularly congratulates on professional holidays officials and colleagues, the bodies of local government and state power.
Often the Press-Center becomes the base for students’ practice, in particular, for the Faculty of Journalism.
Olena Sergiivna Skok is now the director of the Press-center. Its structure includes four correspondents, three of them are now the students the Faculty of Journalism ZNU, and professional photographer. Their work is guided by the associate of the rector in public relations Galina Volodimirivna Mikitiv.
