
In the framework of an international Academic Integrity Project SAIUP, which is implemented in Ukraine by American Councils for International Education in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, October 29-30, 2016, in Kyiv was held a two-day training for representatives of the teaching staff of higher education institutions which participate in the project.
According to the Chief of Research Department Viktoriya Menyaylo, who was a participant of that training from Zaporizhzhya National University, the event was devoted to the consideration of such important issues as improvement of the academic culture of universities, the mechanisms for the development and implementation of Honour codes in higher education institutions, the content of specialized courses of academic writing for students and postgraduates, etc. The trainers were Professor Catherine Nants and Professor David Schmidt from the Fairfield University (USA), and Yehor Stadnyy, Executive Director of CEDOS analytical center. During the training, the program of the academic writing course was also presented, the author of which is Natalya Shlikhta, the Head of History Department of National University of «Kyiv-Mohyla Academy». At the end of the training the participants received Certificates of the American Councils for International Education.
All methodological materials, received during the training, will find its practical application in our University. In particular, now the working group is creating a project of the Honour code of Zaporizhzhya National University. Soon this Code will be presented to the academic community for discussion.
