About 500 students took part in the first round of the regional competition of the Minor Academy of Sciences
On December 2, the first round (writing tests) of the second (regional) stage of the All-Ukrainian competition-protection of research works of students - members of the Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine took place on the basis of Zaporizhzhia National University. About 500 students of 9–grades of secondary education institutions in the city of Zaporizhzhia and Zaporizhzhia region took part in writing examinations. According to the results of this stage of intellectual competitions, the best participants will receive the right to defend their scientific work at meetings of the MAS sections, which will be held in ZNU soon, on February 17.
The first vice-rector Oleksandr Bondar and the vice-rector for scientific, pedagogical and educational work Oleksandr Hura took part in the event. They congratulated the participants of the competition on behalf of the rector of ZNU Mykola Frolov, wished them successful writing of works and expressed hope in the future to see participants of the MAS among students of Zaporizhzhia National University.
Halyna Mykytiv, Head of the Department for Pre-University Training, Career Guidance and Employment, coordinated the activities of the MAS.
At the beginning of the event, she told high school students and representatives of the schools who accompanied the students about the main directions of vocational guidance work at ZNU this year. In particular, they talked about the possibility for high school students to take part in free trial training on EIA, which will be held on the basis of the university from February 10. She also invited future applicants to preparatory courses and offered to take part in a photo contest, which will be held on the territory of Zaporizhzhia National University. As well as Halyna Volodymyrivna invited all participants of the JAS on the Open Day on April 14.
High school students, who became the winners of the qualifying stage of the MAS competition at the level of their secondary educational institutions, during the regional stage in ZNU for three hours wrote examinations on basic disciplines. This stage of the competition was held in four main areas.
In the work of the department of history, philosophy, social science and earth science, 130 high school students took part. 140 people took part in the work of the Department of Linguistics, Literary Studies, Folklore Studies and Art Studies. The department of chemistry and biology, ecology and agrarian sciences gathered 120 young scientists. The department of technical sciences, physics and astronomy, mathematics, economics, computer science was attended by 100 students.
During the meeting, the specialists of the department of pre-university training, career guidance and employment told students about the possibility of getting a higher education on the basis of ZNU.
The participants of the event noted the friendly and hospitable atmosphere that prevailed in ZNU when writing the entries of the MAS, and thanked the organizers of the event.
