On December 4-5, representatives of the university administration and the Zaporizhzhia Confucius School visited Chengdu (Sichuan Province, China). It hosted the XIII Annual International Conference of Confucius Institutes. 538 representatives of these educational and cultural institutions from around the world (Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America) came together to exchange experiences and jointly outline further development paths.
ZNU Confucius School at the event was represented by the vice-rector for Research of the University Hennadii Vasylchuk, the Director of the Confucius School from the Ukrainian side Volodymyr Volkov and the Director of this school from the Chinese side U Shihun. In addition, the conference was attended by employees of other Ukrainian universities, on the basis of which Confucius Institutes operate - the Kyiv National Linguistic Institute and V.N.Karazin Kharkiv National University.
During the event, numerous master classes, workshops, round table discussions took place, the participants of which exchanged experiences, shared teaching methods and successful pedagogical findings. In addition, as part of the conference, a solemn award ceremony was held for representatives of the best Confucius Institutes in the world. Also, new members of the Chinese linguistic and cultural community were awarded certification plates.
According to the words of the vice-rector Hennadii Vasylchuk, such international conferences are a very fruitful form of cooperation with foreign colleagues in the cultural and educational fields. “During our stay at this event we received new useful information on the development of the educational process, new methods of teaching Chinese language,” - mentioned Hennadii Vasylchuk.
It is worth noting that on December 18-20 a large delegation will visit Zaporizhzhia National University, which will include representatives from the Anhui Pedagogical University and the diplomatic corps of the PRC. In particular, vice-rector of Anhui Pedagogical University Lu Lin, Dean of the Faculty of International Exchanges and Cooperation Huang Shengihong, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Zhang Derang, Head of the Russian Language Department Ren Forest and Division Director of International Exchanges and Cooperation Li Yiming will arrive in ZNU. This is convincing evidence that ZNU is on the way of further integration into the global cultural and educational space.
