The participation of representatives of Engineering Institute in the national competition Enactus brought significant results
ENACTUS UKRAINE is a community of students, university representatives and business leaders that implements social business projects. The teams of Enactus create projects aimed at improving the quality of life and living standards of people with different needs. They are focused on solving economic, environmental and social problems and have the goal of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Enactus National Competition is the final event of the season. During this competition teams represent the result of projects that are evaluated by invited representatives and business leaders in Ukraine. The event is supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine. The winning team will represent Ukraine at the Enactus World Cup.
Eleven teams from higher educational institutions of the country presented 39 projects which are concentrated on improving the lives of vulnerable and unprotected people in Ukraine. Zaporizhzhia region was represented by the Enactus ZNU team. Among the representatives of the team were students of the Engineering Institute of ZNU Liashenko Dmytro (15-1 group, II ZNU) and Anastasiia Menchak (6.0356 group, ZNU). They took part in Enactus Prototype Hackaton, which took place on February 22, 2019 in Kyiv. This event is a preparatory stage before the National Enactus competition, participation in which will contribute to enhancing the image of Zaporizhzhia National University.
Our team presented projects Grandparents-online and #BeHelthy. The first project is a computer literacy school for the old people. Classes of Grandparents-online will begin in March of this year. The target audience is the members of the veterans' organizations of the Dniprovskyi district and the Engineering Institute of ZNU with a subsequent increase in listeners with the support of PrivatBank. And the second project is the opening of a healthy nutrition institution with the involvement of vulnerable and unprotected groups of the population.
At the end of the event, teams were consulted with representatives of Enactus Ukraine. Our team received useful advice and is ready to take on new projects with new forces. The next time the participating teams will gather together at the National competition.
