Nominal scholarships will receive 9 students of ZNU, who have success in school, research and other fields of activity
On June 11, the regular meeting of the commission to determine the winners of the scholarship program of “Zaporizhstal” OJSC was held in ZNU. The members of the scholarship commission this time chose nine students - representatives of the faculties of management, economics and the Faculty of Metallurgy of the Engineering Institute of ZNU, who in the first semester of the new 2019-2020 academic year will receive nominal scholarships.
Presentations of 14 candidates were demonstrated to the scholarship commission. They are the best in the ranking among undergraduate and graduate students, have significant achievements in studies, scientific and other fields of activity.
Vice-rector for scientific work Hennadii Vasylchuk, vice-rector for scientific-pedagogical and educational work Oleksandr Hura, leading engineer of the personnel development department of “Zaporizhstal” Oleksii Ivchenko, head of the educational department of ZNU Svitlana Kondratenko, dean of the Faculty of Economics Alla Cherep took part in the discussion and definition of nominal scholarships. Each semester of the year, “Zaporizhstal” OJSC allocates funds for scholarships to provide students with the aim of encouraging them to gain professional knowledge and experience that will contribute to the economic development of the Zaporizhzhia region, in particular its metallurgical industry. The best students of the university take part in the competition in the areas of training “Accounting and Audit”, “Management”, “Ferrous Metals”, “Metal Forming”, and “Metallurgical Equipment”. At the same t
ime, according to the representative of “Zaporizhstal”, the main selection criteria are not only high ranking indicators and scientific achievements of students, but also their motivation, readiness to acquire new knowledge and skills in production, where they will then receive their first job.
Among other things, Oleksii Ivchenko told the audience about various means of motivating and encouraging workers in their metallurgical complex.
Each of the applicants for the scholarship, presenting their scientific and educational achievements, noted that they are striving to complete an internship at this enterprise; they also want to get his first professional experience here, communicate with industry professionals and stay in the future to work at the enterprise.
According to the results of the meeting of the commission, scholarships in the amount of 700 to 1,700 UAH will be received every month by 9 students of ZNU: Yana Beznos (2 course, Faculty of Economics, specialty “Accounting and Audit”), Alisa Halkina (2 course, Faculty of Management, specialty “Management”), Oleksandr Sahuliakin (2nd year), Mykyta Butyrin and Artem Hrusha (3rd year, Faculty of Metallurgy of the Engineering Institute of ZNU, specialty “Metallurgy of ferrous metals”), Olena Batychko, Viktor Sabirov and Vladyslav Kidalov (Master’s degree, Department of Metallurgy of the Engineering Institute of ZNU, specialty “Treatment of metals by pressure”), Vladyslav Pudovochkin (magistracy, Faculty of Metallurgy of the Engineering Institute of ZNU, specialty “Metallurgical equipment”). Also, all interested students of ZNU were invited to do an internship at “Zaporizhstal”, because, based on its results, they will be able to find a job here.
