Recently, there has been a meeting of Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of German Philology and Translation of Zaporizhzhia National University Oleksandra Nikolova with students of Zaporizhzhia and Zaporizhzhia region “Summer School of JAS for gifted youth”.
Professor Nikolova gave a lecture dedicated to the problems and prospects of modern philological studies in Ukraine, drawing particular attention to the importance of intercultural communication in the context of globalization, the broad horizons that opens up participation in international projects of the European Union, the need for a high level of foreign language skills, and also drew attention to current trends development of linguistics and literary criticism.
Oleksandra Nikolova paid a lot of attention to the significant achievement of philological studies at Zaporizhzhia National University, mentioning the high quality of teaching foreign languages at the Faculty of Foreign Philology of ZNU.
Young scholars showed interest in the report, asked questions about employment prospects after studying at the Faculty of Foreign Philology of ZNU, the appropriateness of choosing a primary language (English, German, French or Spanish) in the context of modern reality, and also asked about the possibility of learning Chinese.
The audience totally agreed with the need to speak foreign languages, as without its knowledge it is difficult to get success in the world of science, to reach the high level necessary for international cooperation, receiving grants in the framework of project activities, and etc. The speaker emphasized that this knowledge and great experience you can get during your study at the Faculty of Foreign Philology of ZNU.
