Recently, the ceremony of awarding the regional prize "Sports Pride of Zaporizhzhia” has been held on the basis of the Sport Palace "Yunist". This competition was founded by the Association of Sports Organizations with the support of the Department of Youth, Physical Culture and Sports of the regional state administration.
According to the results of performances in each season, the best athletes of Zaporizhzhia region are marked. This time the best athletes and coaches of spring were honored. According to the competition regulations, the leaders were determined by voting in two stages: at the first three candidates were determined by journalists and specialists, at the second the winners were chosen by popular vote on the platform of the VIP CLUB magazine. This time almost 5 thousand respondents took part in the voting. It should be noted that among the winners of the competition were representatives of Zaporizhzhia National University.
So, the prize was awarded to the prize-winner of the European championship in weightlifting, a graduate student of ZNU Kyryl Pyrohov. And the president of the All-Ukrainian Federation “Spas”, associate professor of the faculty of physical education, Oleksandr Prytula presented a cash prize to the best young athlete - Maksym Lytovchenko, who this spring won seven regional and national competitions.
