The Polish Consul has visited ZNU

On February, 6th the presentation of the album, devoted to the 15-th anniversary of activity of Zaporizhzhya regional society of the Polish culture by Adam Mickiewicz, took place in scientific library of ZNU. The guest of presentation was the Consul of Poland in Kharkov Ivona Shost.

The presentation took place in Zaporizhzhya National University not by chance. Cooperation of our university with representatives of the Polish culture began in the 70-s. Professor Yezhzhy Rosenbaum began the teaching of the Polish language at our university. Now his work in ZNU is continued by Igor Lipkevych, the graduate of Lviv University, the senior lecturer. During 2002-2007 within the limits of Polish-Ukrainian intergovernmental cooperation agreement in the field of science and education at our university worked Vojtseg Zvolynsky, the graduate of Yagellonsk University, Students of ZNU have an opportunity to improve their knowledge of the Polish language and culture during summer courses at Yagellonsk University (Krakov), University by M. Skladovska-Kyuri (Lublin), and also at Vrotslav University. Zaporizhzhya regional society of the Polish culture regularly arranges joint actions with scientific library of ZNU (presentations of books, photo-exhibitions).

On the occasion of the visit, Ivona Shost’s has awarded three winners of children’s competition “the World of the Polish cinema”. Also she has solemnly handed over the Card of the Pole to several representatives of Zaporizhzhya regional society of the Polish culture by A.Mickiewicz. It is the document, which gives to its owner almost all the rights, which the Polish citizens (have employment in the territory of Poland, free-of-charge health service and training, etc.) and the right to free-of-charge receiving of the reusable visa.
