On March 10, within the framework of implementing the international project DESTIN of the European Union Erasmus + program, its experts held a two-day working visit to ZNU (ZNU, Zaporizhzhia National University). The President of European Journalism Training Association, Professor of Windesheim University (Netherlands) Nico Drok, a journalist, media expert, lecturer at the Fojo Media Institute of Linnaeus University (Sweden) Veronika Menjoun, expert on quality of education (World University Service, Austria) Marc Schwärzli, Iryna Kondratenko (Hromadske Radio, Kyiv) and Konstantin Kovalyshin (Ukrainian Students' Association, Kyiv) met with representatives of the university administration. They also met the curriculum development team at the Faculty of Journalism, its alumni, undergraduate and graduate students, got acquainted with the material and technical resources of the faculty and the university as a whole.
At the beginning of their visit to Zaporizhzhia National University, the guests met with Rector Mykola Frolov. Vice-Rector for Research Gennadiy Vasylchuk, Head of International Relations Office Alina Osaul, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism Viktor Kostiuk, Head of the Department of Journalism Yulia Liubchenko and Deputy Dean for International Affairs, Associate Professor Katerina Sirinyok-Dolgaryova also represented ZNU at the meeting.
Addressing the honored guests, Rector Mykola Frolov greeted them at the university. He stressed that today ZNU is a leading educational and cultural center not only in the Zaporizhzhia region, but also in the whole Southern Ukraine. About 17,000 students study and more than 1,800 faculty and staff work here. Among the main evidence of the continuous development of the university, Dr. Frolov noted that Zaporizhzhia State Engineering Academy joined ZNU last year and 
now is called the Engineering Institute of ZNU. This made possible to improve the material and technical resources of the university and train specialists in 18 engineering specialties that are in demand among Zaporizhzhia employers.
In addition, during the meeting the Rector said that today the international activities of the university are in the center of attention and constantly developing. On top of this, over last 5 years, grant and project activities involving university professors have significantly increased: they successfully participate in international grant projects, publish their articles in journals indexed by international databases Web of Science and Scopus, etc. By the way, the terms of the Collective Agreement between the management and the primary trade union organization of the university provide monetary incentives for such publications.
The Rector expressed hope that the stay in Zaporizhzhia would be pleasant for foreign guests, and they will have fruitful work in the framework of the international project DESTIN of the European Union Erasmus + program. In turn, Professor Niko Drok on behalf of all foreign experts noted that, in their opinion, ZNU has great potential. The acquaintance with the representatives of Zaporizhzhia University made a very pleasant impression on them, so the guests expressed hope for further mutually beneficial cooperation with ZNU.
At the end of the meeting, Rector Mykola Frolov presented Dr. Niko Drok with the "Jubilee Book", which contains information about the formation, development and present times of Zaporizhzhia National U
niversity.
It should be recalled that within the framework of the international project DESTIN BA and MA study programs in journalism will be updated. The launch of the updated programs is scheduled for September 2020.
Therefore, among the main issues discussed by the foreign experts with representatives of ZNU were a view on journalism, discussion of the context in which the BA and MA programs operate (legislation, internal regulations), the content and structure of programs, the practical component of the programs, the international context and quality assurance (internal and external).
As part of its implementation, the experts of the DESTIN project met with the curriculum development team, students and recent bachelor's and master's graduates, employers, etc. At the end of the working day, there was a panel meeting, where the experts discussed the results of the work and provided a short feedback to the curricula developing team.
In addition, the guests of ZNU got acquainted with the material and technical resources of the Faculty of Journalism, in particular with the training laboratory of TV journalism and Internet radio "Universe". They noted the potential of Zaporizhzhia National University and discussed further ways of cooperation.
